Luban Temple (Jizhou)

Luban Temple is located on the north side of the Drum Tower and south side of Jizhou No.1 Middle School in the city center of Jizhou District, Tianjin. With its exquisite and unique design and beautifully carved beams and painted rafters, it is the place where ancient people worshipped Luban, the master carpenter. Luban represents the many skilled craftsmen and is the embodiment of the ancient working people's intelligence and wisdom. The temple complex consists of the Shanmen (main gate), the main hall, and the east and west side halls, covering an area of over 800 square meters.

Luban, also known as Gongshu Ban from the Spring and Autumn period of the State of Lu, was a famous craftsman and inventor, and is revered by the folk as the patron saint of builders and carpenters. The temple now houses statues of Luban and his four disciples.
The Luban Temple is now a Tianjin Municipal Cultural Heritage Site.
