Huangya Pass is an important pass of the Jizhen Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty, and it is also a relatively large-scale Great Wall pass in Tianjin today. The reason why it is called Huangyaguan is because whenever the setting sun shines on the rocks on the cliff, it will reflect a warm golden color. There are yellow cliffs on the mountain and Xiongguan Pass at the foot of the mountain. Few people know that Jizhou, a tourist resort with green mountains and green water, filled with smoke and rural farmhouses, was a frontier city baptized by wars in ancient times. In the Ming Dynasty, the Great Wall was divided into nine defense zones, called nine towns. Ji Town started from Shanhaiguan in the east and Juyongguan in the west. It was directly in front of Beijing and its geographical location was very important. Huangyaguan was built in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. It was originally built very simply. After Qi Jiguang was transferred to the post of Commander-in-Chief of Jizhen, in order to enhance the defense capability, Huangya Pass was overhauled with bricks, forming the current scale - there are 85 enemy towers and 9 forts. The total length of this section of the Great Wall is 40.28 kilometers.
