Once summer break hits, moms are truly at their wits' end! Want to take the kids out but worry nearby spots aren't fun enough, while farther destinations feel too exhausting—especially with Beijing's sweltering, humid summers. Staring at each other at home all day isn't a solution either!
Discovered the hidden gem that is The St. Regis Tianjin! Just a short drive from Beijing, and the moment we arrived, I knew it was the right choice. 🏕️ The Octonauts-themed room instantly won over the kids, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the Haihe River and Jinwan Square—like a painting come to life! Little touches like children's bathrobes, slippers, a play tent, and board games maxed out their joy, while I finally got to relax on the sofa and enjoy the scenery.
☕️ Right downstairs is the Haihe River—perfect for evening strolls with the kids, soaking in the breeze. Plenty to explore nearby too: Binjiang Road shopping street is within walking distance, and Tianjin Railway Station, the Five Great Avenues, and the Italian Style Street are all super close. We even enjoyed a whimsical afternoon tea in our room, with 24/7 butler service ready to deliver coffee or warm milk with just a call.
🎠 The play area on B1 may be compact, but it's packed with everything—ball pits, slides, and educational toys. Open weekends from 10 AM to 7 PM, plus a pool to tire them out, ensuring peaceful nights.
🌚 The ongoing Hunan Cuisine Festival at the Riverside Restaurant's buffet is a hit! As a Hunan native, I was in heaven—flame-dried fish, steamed fish head with chopped chili, endless crayfish, and stinky tofu! Plenty of healthy, kid-friendly options too, plus salmon and seafood 🦞 for dad—everyone left happy. 😋
⏰: Every Friday to Sunday until August 31
🚲 Even stumbled upon a fantastic weekend cycling event at the hotel! Cyclists rode along Xinhua Road, Harbin Road, Xing'an Road, and Zhang Zizhong Road, ending at The St. Regis, taking in Haihe River views and Tianjin's iconic architecture. Love how cycling blends health and joy—already planning our next trip to explore Tianjin on wheels with the kids!
