Tianjin, so stylish

🚗 Heading north all the way, arrived in Tianjin, stayed one night, wanted to visit the Five Great Avenues, but after a round there was no parking space, crowded with people, my parents said it felt like being back in Shanghai, so we decided to explore somewhere else. We decided to take them to see the Haihe River Elder, slowly walking from the Italian Style Area to the Haihe riverside. Hmm, Tianjin, your modern vibe makes me feel like a stranger!

The Italian Style Area stretches east from Wujing Road to Beian Bridge in the west, bordered by Bo'ai Road to the south and Jinbu Road to the north. It was originally the Italian concession, established in 1902. At that time, it was Italy’s only concession in the Far East, and is said to be the best-preserved and largest Italian overseas architectural cultural community in China and even Asia. Every old house has its own deeply memorable owner and story.

It was too hot, so we went to the former Austro-Hungarian Empire Club site at Yichi Garden for a cup of coffee. It is said that this was originally the Austro-Hungarian Empire Club and the consulate in Tianjin, and is one of only two remaining Austrian buildings abroad. Despite the bustling voices nearby, there is still a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere here, and the location of Yichi Garden is truly perfect.

As the lights come on, the night view of the Haihe River is somewhat comparable to the Bund, with brilliance mixed with a bit more everyday life charm. I think this is the unique charm of Tianjin, with a spirit far ahead.

[○]tips: It’s a city where you can’t find parking spots easily, so finding a hotel with a parking lot is better than anything else •ᴗ•💧 Visiting during less crowded times and slowly exploring by bike is the best way to discover Tianjin.
