Introducing Qingliangshan Park

Nanjing Qingliangshan Park is located in Qingliangshan, west of Nanjing City. It is known as the "Seven Dynasties Scenic Spot" and is a famous historical and cultural garden. Because of its lush mountains and forests and its location in the urban area, it is known as the "city forest".

Qingliang Mountain is dotted with historical sites, including Zhumapo, the Ancient Well of the Southern Tang Dynasty, Qingliang Temple, Chongzheng Academy, and Saoye Tower. The plaque of Deqing Hall was personally inscribed by Li Yu, the last emperor of the Tang Dynasty. The temple houses a dragon painting by Dong Yu, eight-part script by Li Houzhu, and cursive script by Li Xiaoyuan, collectively known as the temple's "Three Wonders." The temple also boasts a well named Baodaquan. Legend has it that the monks' hair and beards never turn gray in old age thanks to the well's water, earning it the nickname "Huanyang Well."

At the southern foot of Qingliang Mountain lies the former residence of Gong Xian, a renowned patriotic poet and painter from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. On the back slope of Qingliang Mountain is the site where Zhuge Liang stayed. Legend has it that Zhuge Liang, seeking an alliance with Wu against Cao, traveled to Jingkou for talks with Sun Quan. Passing through Moling, he made a brief stop, observing the mountainous terrain from horseback. He coined the famous line, "Where Zhongfu lies a dragon coiling, and where Shicheng lies a tiger crouching, this is truly the abode of an emperor."
