Morning Chat with the Temple Sweeper – Enjoying the Serenity of Guoqing Temple at Dawn

Falling madly in love with ancient architecture🏯 Just returned from Shanxi a week ago, and already packed my camera gear for a trip to Linhai, Guoqing Temple, and Tiantai Mountain! First, let me share the magical morning experience at Guoqing Temple:

- Guoqing Temple opens at 7:00 AM⏰
- Arrive before 6:30 AM!
- We specifically moved from Hoshino Kasei to Tiantai Hotel the night before

Up at 6:20 AM! With dawn barely breaking, we walked along the cobblestone path accompanied by the sound of a babbling brook🚶‍♀️ Reached that incredibly atmospheric stone bridge by 6:30 (Photo 1). The dappled sunlight filtering through leaves onto the stream was absolutely healing~

Around 6:45 AM, visitors started arriving to play in the water and take photos📸 We lingered here to:
🔸Admire the red walls of this Sui Dynasty ancient temple
🔸Watch the temple's "resident" dog masters meditating🐕
🔸Soak in the tranquil atmosphere with wisps of incense smoke

Guoqing Temple is actually the prototype for Japanese temples! Personally find it more Zen than Kiyomizu-dera🍵 Every brick and tile here whispers stories of history as you wander through🏮

2️⃣Wang Xizhi's single-stroke "Goose" calligraphy (treasure of the temple!)
3️⃣Back courtyard full of lotus flowers and bamboo curtains where monks chant
