This is the filming location of the movie "The Battle at Lake Changjin," a lesser-known free family camping site in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai—Hanshan Lake in Tiantai, Zhejiang. As a travel enthusiast who has visited four times in ten years, I want to tell you why this place is worth repeatedly experiencing with your kids. 💗 Hanshan Lake features open lawns, a clear Milky Way, and morning mist, making it an ideal place for families to get away from electronic devices and enjoy the charm of nature. 🍀
🌟 Transportation:
3.5 hours driving from Shanghai, set navigation to Tianxin Village, Jietou Town;
Turn left at the "Fengyuan" sign at the village entrance and go downhill to reach the lakeside parking area.
🌟 Accommodation Options:
Hanshan Lake Resort is closed; nearby farmhouses offer simple lodging, but camping is more recommended to let children immerse themselves in nature. 🌈
🌟 Family Camping Details:
The lawn is divided into two parts, the right side is near the village and convenient, the left side is quiet and pleasant, choose according to your family’s needs.
Be cautious of muddy water when fetching water by the lake; parents should always watch for safety.
There is plenty of dry wood in the forest; use a fire pit to make fire to avoid damaging the grass. We chose to stack stones on the sandy area, which is safe and fun.
The village has restrooms and convenience stores to meet basic needs; families with kids can replenish supplies.
Stargazing at night and enjoying the morning mist, the natural wonders of Hanshan Lake will open children’s eyes wide.
Pet-friendly, the left lawn is suitable for kids to play with sand and dig soil, letting them release their nature.
🌟🌟🌟 In-depth Activities:
There is a dock on the left side of the resort with boats to the lake heart peninsula, a secret village perfect for family exploration; remember to check the boat schedule.
Autumn (November) is the most beautiful season at Hanshan Lake with red leaves everywhere, colorful like a fairy tale world.
Hanshan Ancient Trail can be hiked uphill, offering panoramic views of the lake and mountains, suitable for light family hiking activities.
