Basic Information
- Ticket Price: Approximately 50 RMB per person.
- Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
- Best Time to Visit: June to September, with pleasant climate and the most beautiful scenery.
Transportation Guide
- Self-driving: Navigate to "Qilian Mountain Binggou River Scenic Area." It takes about 40 minutes from Wuwei city center, 1.5 hours from Jinchang, and 3.5 hours from Lanzhou.
- Public Transport: Fly to Lanzhou Zhongchuan or Jinchang Jinchuan Airport, then take a tourist shuttle bus directly to the scenic area, or transfer to the bus group line in Wuwei city center. The one-way fare is 25 RMB per person.
Tour Routes
- Leisure Route: Take the shuttle bus from the visitor center → Malanhua Grassland → Forest Oxygen Bar → Nimiera Grand Canyon (road not yet repaired, enter with caution) → Miaergou → transfer to shuttle bus to Honghua Pasture.
- Hiking Challenge Route: Start hiking from Honghua Pasture to Chairlonghai Heavenly Pool, about 23 km round trip, estimated 8 hours. There is no signal throughout the route. Enter before 12:00 PM and start returning before 3:00 PM.
Accommodation Recommendations
There are hotels such as Oasis Heart Residence Hotel and Binggou River Apartments within the scenic area, with good accommodation conditions. Reservations can be made through platforms like Trip.com.
Food Recommendations
You can taste specialty dishes such as hand-pulled lamb, braised lamb, wild mushroom noodles, and Binggou marinated chicken at the scenic area’s restaurants or old street. Traditional Tibetan foods like buttered tsampa and yogurt ginseng fruit are also available.
Notes
The scenic area is at a high altitude with large temperature differences between day and night. Bring windproof jackets, lightweight down jackets, and sun protection gear, and prepare medication for altitude sickness. Smoking and open flames are strictly prohibited in the protected area. Elderly or physically weak visitors should be accompanied by family and avoid challenging high-altitude hiking.
