I Solo-ed hiked the Tiger Leaping Gorge Hike in China

I solo-ed hiked one of the top 10 hikes in China! #tigerleapinggorge #tigerleapinggorgehike

Booked my transport off Xiecheng (search for 中跳峡徒步) for 140RMB. A bus will pick you up from the ancient town at 7AM depending on your location. Transport to the hiking start point is around 2hrs. No entrance fee required.

You usually will have 3 hiking startpoints to choose from: 1. Chama 2. Halfway 3. Zhang Laoshi (from longest distance to shortest)

I would recommend halfway so you'd have more time at the gorge. Halfway is around 15km to Zhang Laoshi (took me 1.5hr). It is not a strenuous hike with very minimal uphill. Loads of downhill so prep a knee guard if your knees hurt. Good to prepare a good hiking shoe as there are loose stones which could make you slip.

From Zhang Laoshi, you will be hiking down to the gorge (30 min) and you have the chance to take the most gorgeous photo of your life (pic 1). I queued 1 HR for this photo so you really have to take note of your time. Skip lunch and come here first so you don't have to queue that long.
