The Everest 108 Bends start from Lazi County in Shigatse and end at the entrance of Everest Base Camp. This stretch of road is quite a challenge whether you’re driving or riding. After passing the 108 bends and crossing the Gaula Pass at an altitude of 5,210 meters, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking scenery that will leave you in awe.
❤️ Scenic Surprise:
After the 108 bends, you’ll pass by the "I Love You China" sign. We didn’t stop there because it’s actually quite dangerous to do so. But you can definitely take great photos from inside the car!
🌟 Tips:
1️⃣ Be sure to bring motion sickness patches, especially if you’re riding—108 bends are no joke!
1️⃣ Border permits can be obtained in advance in Shigatse; if you’re on a tour, no need to worry!
2️⃣ At 5000+ meters altitude, prepare oxygen bottles and glucose, move slowly, and stay calm!
3️⃣ Large temperature differences between morning and evening, don’t forget your down jacket, sunglasses, and sunscreen! The UV rays in Tibet are very strong!
🎫 Tickets: Free, no tickets required, as this spot is just a scenic point on the way to Everest Base Camp where you can take photos along the route.
I had heard the scenery here was amazing before coming, but after arriving, I was truly amazed. It’s not just amazing—it can only be described as breathtaking. Standing at the peak and looking down, I felt completely healed!
