【Albania】Exploring the capital, Tirana

Tirana serves as the central hub for traveling within Albania. You can witness the fascinating current state of Albania, a country that was isolated from the world for a long time.

Let us introduce you to Tirana✨

1,2,3 Skanderbeg Square
This large square in the city center is a popular gathering spot for many people. Surrounding the square, you'll find the Opera House, museums, cafes, and restaurants! There's also a statue of Albania's national hero, Skanderbeg.

4,5,6 Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral
Although part of it was under restoration, we were able to visit. Interestingly, this place was originally a mosque before becoming a church. During the long communist era, all forms of religion were banned, which is why many people in Albania today are non-religious.

7 The Pyramid of Tirana
Known as a remnant of the communist era, many people climb to the top to enjoy the view. On this day, a music event was being held inside 🎵

8,9,10,11,12 Bunk'Art 2
This museum utilizes a nuclear bunker built during the communist era to showcase Albania's history. At the time, the country believed it was under threat of nuclear attack from other nations, leading to the construction of bunkers all over the country. It's said that the total number of bunkers exceeds 700,000! There is also a larger bunker museum in the suburbs, so if you have time, be sure to visit!
