The Kadokawa Culture Museum, opened in 2020 in Saitama's Tokorozawa Sakura Town, is a fantastic new addition to any Tokyo itinerary. Designed by Kengo Kuma, its striking exterior is made of 20,000 granite pieces, resembling a futuristic rock integrated with nature. A large pool outside offers great reflection photo ops.

Inside, the five-story museum is dedicated to Japanese anime and pop culture:

1F features a massive manga and light novel library with 35,000 works and character merchandise.
2F houses the entrance and a shop, also designed by Kuma, with unique moon and tree-branch themed lighting and shelving.
It's a unique blend of art, architecture, and pop culture, offering a captivating experience even for non-Japanese speakers.
