⛩️Introduction to the Shrine
Oji Shrine is also known as Cat God-san and Oujin-san.
The deities enshrined are
Amatsuhikone no Mikoto
Omatsu Daimyojin
Otama Daimyojin
It is said that the Hasegawa Magistrate family, who were the chief retainers of the Hachisuka family of the Awa domain during the Edo period, worshipped him for generations.
And then there was the "Awa Cat Incident".
Omatsu-san was arrested for a crime he did not commit.
He told his beloved cat 🐈 Otama to take revenge, and Otama's spirit cursed the people he captured, so Omatsu and Otama were enshrined.
Now, he is said to be the cat god 🐈🐈⬛ who grants wishes.

🗺️Highlights of the shrine grounds
- Six cats are kept, and you can see them acting freely!
- The front of the shrine is beautifully decorated, and you can enter the worship hall to worship.
- There are many donated maneki-neko (beckoning cats).

💗Thoughts about the shrine
As soon as I arrived at the shrine, I was greeted by "Tsumire-chan" at the entrance to the grounds.✨
In addition to the cats kept by the shrine, there are also many giant maneki-neko (beckoning cats) and cat-related items! Even the gifts have cat designs. It's a shrine that makes you want to go back.
