Shikoku 🇯🇵 A railway journey like a story

Shikoku, Japan, has three sightseeing trains that are more than just a means of transportation; they offer the journey itself as the destination.

🚂 Shikoku Scenic Trains

・Iyonada Monogatari (Ehime)
・Shikoku Shochu Millennium Monogatari (Kagawa to Tokushima)
・Shikoku Konosawa: The Dawn of the Age Monogatari (Kochi)
Among them, the "Iyonada Monogatari" offers a journey amidst breathtaking ocean views and warm local hospitality.

🌊🍱What is the Iyonada Monogatari?

This sightseeing train departs from Matsuyama Station in Ehime Prefecture and travels to Iyo-Ozu Station and Yawatahama Station.

Enjoy the magnificent views of the Seto Inland Sea and Iyonada while savoring local cuisine and culture for approximately two and a half hours of luxurious time.

📸 Highlights
・Stop at Shimonada Station, often ranked high among unmanned stations nationwide, for approximately 10 minutes. Plenty of time for photos.
・The welcoming gestures of local residents along the line are truly impressive. Onboard attendants provide sightseeing guides and photo assistance.

🍴 Cuisine
This time, we enjoyed the "Kadoda French Cuisine" French course, which requires prior reservations. Authentic cuisine using ingredients from the Setouchi region.
The July-August limited-time menu includes dishes like cold broccoli soup and sea bass grilled with tapuna sauce, brimming with seasonal flavors.

🚃 Car Features
・Car 1, "Akane no Sho": The ocean-facing counter seats are popular.
・Car 2, "Golden no Sho": Group seating with a warm wooden feel.
・Car 3, "Yōka no Sho": Enjoy an elegant stay in the Fiore Suite.

💡 Travel Tips
・To board, you must have a ticket + a limited express ticket + a green car ticket.
・The train primarily operates on weekends, but may also operate on Fridays and holidays in certain months.
・There are four timetables: "Yawatahama," "Ozu," "Futami," and "Dōgo."
