Located in Shibuya, Shibuya Ward, this shrine is the guardian deity of Shibuya and Aoyama.
It is said that Shibuya Castle once stood on this site, and a shrine was built in 1092 as the guardian deity of the Shibuya clan.
The current shrine was donated by Tokugawa Iemitsu's wet nurse, Kasuga no Tsubone, and his tutor, Aoyama Hoki no Kami Tadatoshi, as a token of gratitude when he was selected as the third Shogun. As a result, the shrine is said to grant blessings for career advancement, luck at work, and luck in competitions.
