"Golden Compass" by Shepard Fairey

What is your compass when the world is filled with anger, sadness and injustice? The key question that the “Golden Compass” exhibition challenges viewers to ponder is what is your life compass? And can art really help guide us toward balance and understanding?

Shepard Fairey, a unique artist in the Propaganda-Inspired Aesthetic, draws inspiration from Soviet posters, Chinese communist art and pop culture. His style is characterized by powerful graphic compositions, high contrast and a limited palette, along with symmetrical arrangements and large fonts, along with impactful slogans such as “OBEY,” “HOPE,” and “PEACE.”

Shepard Fairey often uses his art to communicate important social issues such as questioning the authority of the state and the media, social justice, human rights, and peace and the environment, with the aim of raising awareness and driving change through the power of art in the public space.

In this exhibition, these ideas are expressed through a variety of mixed media works. Collages, wood and metal prints, and stencils are meticulously arranged on unique backgrounds, catching the eye and stimulating the mind to explore issues deeper than the surface.

The Golden Compass exhibition is a journey through art that reflects the inner struggles of human beings amidst a world full of chaos, pain, and inequality, while also being an open dialogue for reflection and the search for hope from within.
