A must-see: Illuminated Sensoji Temple

The Sensoji Temple main hall, five-story pagoda, Hozomon Gate, and Kaminarimon Gate are lit up every day from sunset until 11:00 p.m. Sensoji Temple is an essential part of sightseeing in Tokyo, and we recommend visiting it during the day as well as at night to experience its mystical atmosphere.

[Official name] Kinryuzan Sensoji Temple
This is a Kannon temple with a history of nearly 1,400 years. The principal image is the Bodhisattva Kannon. Tokugawa Ieyasu is said to have visited the temple to pray for victory in the Battle of Sekigahara. It is a historic temple with a long history.
