It's time to plan your trip to Japan in autumn~
In addition to the red leaves in autumn, there are many places where you can enjoy the golden ginkgo trees. The Ginkgo Avenue in front of the Meiji Jingu Gaien in Tokyo is the most famous and has appeared in many Japanese dramas!
Every year in early November, the ginkgo leaves start to turn yellow, but at this time, most of the autumn leaves in Tokyo have not yet turned completely red, so the two neat rows of ginkgo trees have become a popular photo location, crowded with people on both weekdays and weekends. This short 300-meter boulevard actually has about 146 tall ginkgo trees planted on both sides. No wonder it looks so spectacular!
There are many ways to check out Ginkgo Avenue. In fact, the most beautiful view is in the center of the road with two rows of ginkgo trees as the background. So you will see a lot of people rushing to the center of the road as soon as the light turns green, just like the wonder of animal migration. But remember to pay attention to when the light turns red! At the same time, I also noticed that many people would collect ginkgo leaves on the ground and then scatter them into the air, creating a romantic picture of falling ginkgo leaves.
There are several restaurants along Ginkgo Avenue. I believe the most familiar one to Hong Kong people is SHAKE SHACK, which sells hamburgers. However, it is not so easy to dine while looking at the ginkgo trees. It is estimated that you may have to queue for an hour if there are so many people! So if you are hungry, it is recommended that you reserve time to walk to Omotesando or Harajuku to eat and go shopping!
📍Meiji Jingu Gaienmae
Although Ginkgo Namiki Avenue is within the Meiji Jingu area, Gaien and Meiji Jingu are actually completely different. If you get off at Meiji Jingumae Station, you will go to the wrong place! If you want to go directly to Ginkgo Namiki-dori, you should get off at Gaienmae Station or Aoyama-itchome Station and walk for 5 minutes to arrive.
