Tokyo Prize Ginkgo: Ginkgo Trees at the Main Gate of the University of Tokyo

The University of Tokyo is one of the best places to see ginkgo trees in Tokyo. When you enter the campus from the main gate, you can see two rows of golden ginkgo trees (some of which are actually greener).

The advantage here is that there are fewer people and it is not a car-filled road, so you can be more comfortable when taking photos.

Another feature is the Western-style buildings on the Tokyo University campus, which are relatively rare to be seen in the same frame with ginkgo trees.

Transportation: 10 minutes walk south from Todaimae Station on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, or 10 minutes walk north from Hongo-Sanchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line or Toei Subway Oedo Line.

Shooting date: November 17, 2024.
