Just a short walk from Tokyo Tower, there’s a lesser-known but incredibly photogenic spot that has become popular among photographers and Instagrammers — the entrance to the underground parking lot. With clean architectural lines and a perfectly framed view of Tokyo Tower rising in the background, this location offers a unique perspective you won’t find at the usual viewing areas.
The composition here feels cinematic — the symmetry of the tunnel entrance draws the eye straight to the tower, making it ideal for both wide-angle and portrait shots. It’s a quiet spot compared to the main Tokyo Tower area, so it’s easy to take your time and find the perfect angle.
However, be prepared to queue for about 1 hour if you’re visiting during peak times. It’s definitely worth the wait, but if you’re looking to skip the lines, try visiting during off-peak hours or early morning for a quieter experience. Visiting at night is also highly recommended — the tower is beautifully lit up, and the contrast of the lights against the dark sky makes for a truly magical shot.
Tip: Visit during early morning, late afternoon, or at night for the best lighting, and bring a friend or tripod if you want to be in the photo. The entrance is located on the north side of Tokyo Tower and is easy to find if you follow signs to the underground parking.
This spot may be simple, but it captures Tokyo’s modern elegance with just the right touch of drama. #cherryblossom25
