🗓️Itinerary:
Day 1: Ueno Park - Ueno Ameyoko - Sensoji Temple - Tokyo Skytree
Day 2: Harajuku/Yoyogi Meiji Shrine - Lunch at Shinjuku Station - Akihabara - Tokyo Tower
Day 3: Ueno National Museum of Western Art - National Museum of Nature and Science - Nakano Broadway - Ikebukuro Sunshine City
Day 4: Tokyo Station Ichibangai
Notes for this trip:
1. If you want to visit the museums inside Ueno Park, such as Ueno Royal Museum, National Museum of Western Art, National Museum of Nature and Science, National Museum, and the Zoo, avoid going on Mondays because they are closed.
2. Near the JR station entrance in Ueno Ameyoko, there is a shop selling baked sesame cakes. The texture is somewhat like the old 800-Store’s character sesame cakes but harder, and the crust is lighter in color.
3. It’s best to visit Ikebukuro Sunshine City in the afternoon, not at night, because many shops close after 8 PM.
4. It’s best to travel by subway because bus services are infrequent.
5. Although Tokyo’s subway network is complex, just remember the three main companies: Toei Subway, Tokyo Metro, and JR. Use Google Maps when necessary.
6. One to two weeks before departure, besides looking forward to the trip, packing, checking in, and filling out immigration forms, it’s best to watch videos and check out tips from various influencers, especially about transportation. Combined with your own experience, it will leave a deeper impression.
7. Internet: This time I rented a Wi-Fi egg.
8. On the way from JR Hamamatsucho Station to Tokyo Tower, near the Daimon subway station, there is a taiyaki shop. The taiyaki is quite delicious.
9. Buy Suica and subway Day Pass in advance.
Hotel: Nest Hotel at Kuramae Station (just outside Asakusa Line Kuramae Station Exit A3)
💰Average cost per person: about HKD $8000
