Wuyuan boasts a distinctive type of covered bridge: the covered bridge. A covered bridge is not only beautiful in appearance but, most importantly, provides a resting place for pedestrians during rainy days. Rainbow Bridge, an ancient bridge built during the Song Dynasty, is a representative example of Wuyuan's covered bridges. Its name evokes the line from a Tang Dynasty poem: "Two waters embrace a mirror, twin bridges cast a rainbow." The bridge is 140 meters long, with a deck over 3 meters wide. It features four piers and five arches, and is composed of 11 pavilions with stone tables and benches. The scenery surrounding Rainbow Bridge is breathtaking, with verdant mountains and crystal-clear waters. Resting here and taking in the surrounding scenery is a chance to deeply experience the beauty of Wuyuan.
The county is located in the mid-subtropics and has the characteristics of the East Asian monsoon zone. It has a mild climate, abundant rainfall, a short frost period, and distinct four seasons.
