Nestled in the alleys near Yoyogi Park in Shibuya, Tokyo, "Fuglen Tokyo" is the first overseas store of the Norwegian coffee brand "Fuglen." Since opening in 2012, it has been acclaimed as a "world-class coffee worth flying for." This pure white standalone old house fills the air with the pure aroma of Nordic light roast coffee during the day, and transforms into a modern bar at night. Vintage furniture and antique decorations weave a unique nostalgic charm, attracting countless coffee lovers and travelers.
The coffee here is known for its "clean flavor." We recommend trying the signature "Aeropress coffee," which perfectly releases the fruity acidity and floral notes of the light roast beans. For those who prefer a richer taste, the double espresso latte and cold brew coffee are also popular choices. Pair it with the traditional Norwegian dessert "Skolebrød," whose custard filling and coconut flakes offer a simple sweet fragrance that balances wonderfully with the coffee. Additionally, the shop sells its own roasted beans and related equipment, allowing travelers to bring the Nordic flavor home.
Besides the Yoyogi main store, Fuglen also has branches in Asakusa and Sangubashi in Tokyo, each blending local characteristics—such as the two-story transparent space of the Asakusa store or the mountain cabin atmosphere of the Sangubashi store, which was renovated from an old folk house—both worth exploring. Whether enjoying coffee with morning sunlight or sipping creative cocktails at night, Fuglen defines a new height for Tokyo coffee journeys with "freedom and quality."
