📍Senso-ji Temple
Located in Taito City, Tokyo, Senso-ji is Tokyo’s oldest temple and a popular spot attracting tourists from both Japan and abroad. Passing through the Kaminarimon Gate leads to Nakamise Street, lined with traditional Japanese sweets and souvenir shops. Visiting around 9 a.m. is recommended as it tends to be less crowded. After worship, you can enjoy views of Asakusa from the observation deck (free) at the Asakusa Culture and Tourist Information Center.
📍Ameya-Yokocho
Walk towards Ueno and enjoy street food at Ameyoko. There is a wide variety of casual gourmet foods such as cut fruit, seafood bowls, and takoyaki, perfect for a light snack during sightseeing. It gets crowded in the afternoon, so an early morning visit is best. Nearby are Ueno Park and museums, making it suitable for a half-day tour.
📍Tokyo Skytree
Located inside Tokyo Solamachi, this complex facility combines sightseeing, gourmet dining, and shopping. The observation decks are at 350m and 450m, offering impressive views both during the day and at night. On clear days, you can even see Mount Fuji. Advance ticket reservation is recommended. The nearest station is Tokyo Skytree Station, and it’s also accessible from Asakusa.
📍Omotesando Hills
Situated in the Harajuku and Omotesando area, this fashion and art spot features architectural beauty and sophisticated select shops. The sloped interior extends from ground level to three basement floors, making it ideal for sightseeing even on rainy days. It also has cafes and galleries, convenient for both shopping and resting.
📍Tokyo Midtown
A large complex directly connected to Roppongi Station. It includes the Suntory Museum of Art, shops and restaurants, luxury hotels, and a vast lawn plaza, offering enjoyment day and night. Nearby are the National Art Center and Roppongi Hills, making it a great match for travelers interested in art and culture.
