Tokyo Onsen|The Same Bathhouse as in the Movie "My Perfect Everyday" Kotakara-yu

With great anticipation for "My Perfect Everyday," I finally found a secret Japanese sento in Tokyo perfect for shooting freely🫧!

The movie was filmed at Denki-yu in Sumida Ward, but unfortunately, the original location is not open for visits. Unexpectedly, Kotakara-yu in the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum perfectly recreates the public bath scenes from the film 1:1! From the moment you step into the bathhouse, a strong retro atmosphere hits you—the warm yellow wall lamps cast a soft glow, the rustic wooden lattice and weathered brick walls, even the wooden buckets and enamel basins on the shelves are full of Showa era charm. Steam rises gently, as if you’ve stepped right into the movie scene.

The most exciting part is that you can freely take photos here! No need to worry about disturbing others; every snapshot you take tells a story: sitting curled up on a wooden low stool splashing water, or holding an iron basin while glancing back in the shower area—every corner hides a perfect photo spot. The bathhouse faithfully reproduces the lively and warm details from the movie, with old posters hanging on the walls, an old radio in the corner, and even the changing room curtains matching the film’s scenes exactly.

Besides photo ops, you can also experience authentic Japanese bathing culture here. Following the etiquette of "wash before entering the bath," soak in the warm spring water and feel your body and mind gradually relax. After bathing, you can stroll through the park and visit other retro buildings to deeply experience the Edo period atmosphere.

📍 Address: 3-7-1 Sakuramachi, Koganei City, Tokyo 184-0005, inside Tokyo Metropolitan Koganei Park
If you’re a movie fan or looking for a unique Tokyo onsen experience, Kotakara-yu is definitely a must-visit!
