Tokyo accommodation is ridiculously expensive, luckily there’s this rebranded DoubleTree by Hilton

Tokyo accommodation is insanely pricey
Luckily, there’s this newly opened DoubleTree by Hilton Ariake

▫️Stayed twice, once got a high-floor twin room, average size (heard it’s due to renovation limits of the old building), once got a top-floor suite, having a bathtub suite in Tokyo is really surprising!

▫️The big bed is made of two single beds pushed together, the living room space is huge, very convenient for opening luggage.

▫️Right downstairs from the hotel are two adjacent railway stations, the Yurikamome Line and the Rinkai Line. Although not included in the Tokyo Metro 72-hour ticket, transferring to the subway is very convenient.

▫️The area around the hotel feels very techy, close to Minato Ward and Odaiba. When I was a kid, the episode of Digimon with Palmon was filmed here.

▫️Breakfast is on the 1st floor, during peak times you might have to queue, the selection isn’t large but filling. Happy hour is just average, only alcohol, soda, and popcorn, no need to go out of your way for it. The 7-11 downstairs is amazing, you can wear slippers to buy late-night snacks, so refreshing!

▫️Diamond members can also get two Starbucks coffees, part of the check-in perks besides cookies.

▫️There’s a gym but no pool, the gym is in a separate area outside. The front desk service is excellent, some staff even recognize me, quite touching.

▫️I originally thought Tokyo was huge and worried this place would be out of the way, but after coming here I found it’s actually very convenient. As long as you don’t stay out all night, returning to the hotel on time is pretty good.
