A Must-Stay in Shinjuku, Tokyo! The Ultimate High-Value Hotel Revealed: Odakyu Century Southern Tower Hotel

Visiting Tokyo for a short three-day trip and want to balance convenient transportation, affordable prices, excellent room views, and a strong Tokyo city vibe? This hotel fully meets those expectations!

Location: Just a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Bus Terminal and only 6 minutes from Shinjuku JR Station, making it easy to reach even with luggage. However, the hotel is located inside an office building, with the front desk on the 20th floor, so the layout is a bit complex. The airport bus stops on the first floor of the building, and you need to take the elevator to the 20th floor to check in. Guest rooms are all above the 30th floor. Additionally, nearby bus stops, Shinjuku JR Station, and Takashimaya department store are accessible directly from the hotel's 2nd-floor platform, making it super convenient once you get familiar with the routes!
There is a direct airport bus from Haneda Airport to the hotel, and you can buy tickets at the airport self-service machines; however, for the return trip to the airport, you need to purchase tickets and board at Shinjuku Bus Terminal, either at the ticket counter or online (see the last picture for details).

Rooms: The views are amazing! The scenic twin room I booked offers a panoramic view of landmarks like Tokyo Skytree and Shinjuku Gyoen, full of authentic Japanese urban atmosphere. The room design is standard but super clean and relatively spacious compared to similar hotels in Japan. The only inconvenience is that no drinking water is provided. Although there is a 7-11 downstairs, it closes early on weekends, so it’s easy to miss out at night; the minibar only has instant coffee and tea bags, so those looking for a variety of snacks might be disappointed. However, the bathroom is spacious, with subtly scented toiletries, and there’s a thoughtful windowsill next to the bathtub, allowing you to enjoy the night view while soaking, instantly elevating the experience!

Service: The service level is on point. The front desk staff communicate fluently in English and patiently answer questions about transportation and food recommendations. They proactively help with luggage during check-in and offer free luggage storage after check-out, which is super friendly for shoppers! While the service details aren’t as refined as luxury hotels, the practicality is perfect and fully matches a four-star standard.

Dining: I haven’t tried the hotel’s own restaurant yet, but downstairs there’s Shake Shack and Starbucks, and right across is Takashimaya, a food paradise! From ramen and sushi to desserts, everything is available, making it super convenient whether you want authentic Japanese cuisine or crave American burgers. Breakfast options are abundant, and I recommend trying the traditional Japanese sweets shop on the street downstairs, paired with a cup of matcha to feel the rich everyday Tokyo vibe.

Summary: Odakyu Century Southern Tower Hotel is like the “all-rounder” for Tokyo trips, offering convenient transportation, stunning views, and comfortable space at an affordable price. It’s perfect for both business trips and sightseeing shopping! Highly recommended for those seeking great value. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I visit Shinjuku! 💖
