Introducing Dogon Ma Temple

Dogunma Monastery is located 31 kilometers north of Banma County, Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, at the entrance of Madang'e Valley in Dogunma Township, close to the highway. It is said to have been founded by Cuola in 1840. It is a Nyingma monastery of the former Nida tribe and belongs to the Gaden Monastery system. Before 1958, it had one scripture hall with three rooms, 22 monk's quarters with 46 rooms, 40 monks, and living Buddhas including Alaoang and Gengsang Dorje. It was approved for opening on August 22, 1984, with a maximum of 15 people per monastery. Currently, it has one scripture hall with six rooms, three prayer rooms with five rooms, 28 monk's quarters with 48 rooms, 42 monks, and living Buddhas including Qupei, Bansan (who serves as the head of the monastery management committee), and Labao.
