Tokyo on the Day the Ginkgo Changes Color

Tokyo still offers us beautiful nature to see at all times, especially in public parks or in the lush suburbs.

Therefore, visiting Tokyo during the autumn foliage season remains an important destination for many who want to witness this beauty and uniqueness.

During the autumn foliage season, a must-see is the row of yellow ginkgo trees. When the leaves change color, they turn a brilliant yellow all along the streets, as beautiful as the red leaves. The rows of bright yellow ginkgo trees lined up straight look as stunning as a painting.

The place we visited is “Meiji Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Avenue.”
Along the 300-meter path, there are 146 ginkgo trees standing tall, proudly showing off their beauty to attract tourists without hesitation.

🌿 Around early November, the ginkgo leaves start changing from green to yellow.
🍁 In mid-November, the yellow leaves and the clear blue autumn sky contrast beautifully, making the colors even more vivid and stunning.
🍂 In early December, entering the late autumn season before winter, the fallen ginkgo leaves cover the ground like a yellow carpet.

✨ A little secret: We went in early December 2024. The trees still had yellow leaves that hadn’t fallen yet, and the soft yellow carpet on the ground was truly unforgettable.
