A Cute Animal Interaction Park in Tokyo City / Edogawa Natural Zoo

Located within Tokyo's Gyosen Park, Edogawa Natural Zoo is about a 15-minute walk from the north exit of Nishi-Kasai Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. It is a free attraction suitable for families. The park is not very large; besides seeing penguins, the most popular spot is the "Fureai Corner" (Animal Interaction Area), where you can get up close and interact with various adorable animals, including guinea pigs, rabbits, and sheep, which are especially loved by children. However, the downside is that it only opens twice daily: from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM and from 1:15 PM to 3:00 PM. You need to queue on-site to make a reservation, and spots are limited. If you arrive too late, you might miss out, and during peak times, you may need to line up more than two hours in advance. Besides the zoo, the entire Gyosen Park is well planned, featuring a children's playground and spacious lawns, perfect for kids to run around and burn off energy. Nearby, the Edogawa Heisei Garden showcases elegant Japanese landscaping with ponds, stone bridges, and serene dry landscape gardens, offering adults a peaceful place to stroll and relax.

Within walking distance of the park is the Aeon Kasai supermarket, where you can buy fruits and snacks for a picnic in the park. There are also chain coffee shops and dining brands nearby, making it convenient for simple meals and refreshments.
