Local food at 元治郎 Isakaya Restaurant Ueno

Aunt Om complained about the journey to 元治郎 Isakaya Restaurant Ueno, which is near her accommodation. She and her group took the Highway Bus from Kawaguchiko to Tokyo at 4:30 PM. The bus was delayed and stuck in traffic on the expressway for about 30 minutes, so they didn’t arrive at their accommodation until 8 PM. Feeling extremely hungry, they decided to look for local food nearby. They found this restaurant with a sign featuring pictures, but the menu was entirely handwritten in Japanese. To order, they had to use a personal interpreter by video-calling her younger brother, who could communicate in Japanese. They ordered Tonkatsu, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—the pork in Japan is truly delicious. They also tried a fish dish that was fresh, fragrant, and tasty. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, spacious seating with both chairs and floor seating options. Despite the language barrier, the owner kindly helped take photos for them.
