|With profound cultural heritage. Yaowang Mountain in Tongchuan City, located in the east of Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, is a famous mountain with profound cultural heritage and beautiful scenery.
It is famous because Sun Simiao, a medical scientist in the Tang Dynasty, lived in seclusion here for a long time, writing books, curing diseases and saving lives. He was revered as the "Medicine King" and the mountain was also named Yaowang Mountain. The mountain is covered with lush ancient cypresses, numerous temples and stone tablets, making it like an open-air palace of stone carving art. Many of the inscriptions bear the marks of time and medical culture. The main attractions such as Beidong and Nan'an have simple and elegant buildings with well-arranged layout. Every year on the second day of the second month of the lunar calendar, the Yaowang Mountain Temple Fair is extremely lively, with tourists and pilgrims flocking in from all over the world and rich folk activities. In modern times, the respect for the spirit of the Medicine King and the adherence to traditional customs are still passed down.
Transportation: You can take a train or long-distance bus to Tongchuan, and then take a bus or taxi to Yaowang Mountain Scenic Area for easy access.
Tour route: Enter the scenic area from the mountain gate, first visit the North Cave, admire the cliff statues and ancient stone carvings, and appreciate the charm of ancient art; then stroll to the Medicine King Hall, feel the atmosphere of worshiping the Medicine King, and explore the medical legend of Sun Simiao; then go to the South Temple, and experience the Taoist cultural heritage in the quiet courtyard and ancient buildings.
Food recommendation: After going down the mountain, try the local salty noodle soup, the noodles are chewy and the soup is delicious. Remember to bring a light backpack and wear comfortable sports shoes so that you can enjoy a relaxing tour of Yaowang Mountain.
