Tonglu's Forgotten Niche Ancient Village Secret Hidden in the Mountains for a Slow Travel

If you're tired of the city's noise and troubles
and bored of the same old popular spots,
then take a "slow trip hidden in the mountains."

🌲Qinglongwu in the deep mountains of Tonglu
is like a breathing valley painting.
As we slowly drive 🚗 along the mountain road,
taking a different path from the crowded Luzhi Bay,
heading deeper into the mountains, crossing mountain trails,
outside the window are endless green mountain barriers and ancient trees.
No need for streams; when the wind blows, your face feels the coolness of summer.

🌲Half-day valley · Escape and wander
But Qinglongwu Ancient Village’s charm is not just its secluded environment.
It is home to the famous "Fangyu Kongxiang Cultural and Creative Inn,"
which combines rural public cultural spaces, Yanjiu Capsule Bookstore,
guesthouses, and art installations placed in the wild.
The entire ancient village is small but has won numerous awards.
Following the mountain’s terrain, neat rammed earth buildings stand tall.
At the end of the village, a few original residents still live.
There’s little commercialization, preserving the rustic mountain life.

We arrived at the ancient village at dusk; after sunset,
the small windows 🪟 on the rammed earth walls were lit warmly.
Because rain was coming, the faint sunset made the valley even more tranquil.
The simple and peaceful atmosphere instantly took me back to my grandmother’s home.

Strolling along the mountain road at dusk, with cicadas chirping nearby,
you’ll see towering green mountains seemingly close by.
The feeling of reaching out to touch ancient trees and houses is amazing.
There are far fewer tourists here than at popular streams outside the mountains.
Just breathe in the pure oxygen and enjoy the slow life.

🧉: TIP
▪️The mountain road to the ancient village is narrow; it’s best to have an experienced driver. Remember to honk and drive slowly at corners.
▪️There are a few streams and riverbanks in the village for free exploration (we didn’t have time this trip).
▪️In summer, there are many mosquitoes in the mountains, so bring mosquito repellent or take precautions.
