Wuzhen, a quintessential Jiangnan water town,
has perfectly preserved the ancient water town style of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.
Every corner of West Scenic Area is captivating at night,
embodying the gentle and charming Jiangnan atmosphere.

This is my second time in Wuzhen, almost ten years after my last visit!
My first visit, I stayed in the scenic area. The shimmering water at night and the tranquility of the early mornings are unforgettable!
This time, we planned to stay one night in the scenic area again.
This time, we paid extra to book a waterfront room and were assigned 2A in the B&B.
The room was on the first floor, smaller than the one I stayed in the first time, which didn't face the water.
I expected it to be larger, but I was a little disappointed when I saw it (it was even smaller than my first stay).
Also, the upstairs residents (a group of people sharing several rooms) chatted until quite late (around 2 a.m.), and the sound of their voices and footsteps was very noticeable.
But since we knew it was a wooden house, we had no choice but to endure the night's sleep.
Although I didn't have a breakfast reservation, I still went out for a walk and ate something at my own expense. It was quite nice to experience the atmosphere!
The B&B owner also prepared a very generous breakfast!
I highly recommend staying in Xizha for a night when visiting Wuzhen.
And make sure to take advantage of the time before 9 a.m., when the area opens to tourists. Stroll around and take in lots of beautiful, deserted photos!
