Tottori 🇯🇵 Travel Fun 🐇 Hakuto Shrine

Hakuto Shrine (はくとじんじゃ) is the setting for the "Inaba White Rabbit" legend, described in the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters), one of Japan's oldest myths. Enshrined here is the White Rabbit God, who brought Okuninushi and Princess Yagami together, and considered a sacred place for praying for a happy marriage and romantic success.

Traveling along the trails within the grounds, you'll come across the "Gomi-no-Aki-no-Pond," where the legendary white rabbit washes wounds. Because its water level remains constant throughout the seasons, it's also known as the "Unending Pond," and is believed to offer protection and healing powers for skin ailments, burns, and other injuries. The shrine also sells popular white rabbit-shaped amulets and love-bonding amulets. These cute and meaningful amulets are must-buys for tourists seeking good luck.
