The Garonne River felt lively and full of energy, especially as it passed through Toulouse. Standing on the Pont Neuf, I admired the reflections of pink-brick buildings on the water. A sunset river cruise was magical, with the city glowing orange and gold. Further along, the river flows through Bordeaux, surrounded by vineyards producing some of the world’s finest wines. The Garonne has a personality—sometimes calm, sometimes wild, but always fascinating. I loved walking its banks and feeling how deeply it connects southern France’s cities, countryside, and culture.
