Toyama City Hall Observation Tower

It's quite easy to walk past the entrance to the Toyama City Office without noticing what lies behind the facade, as I did on my 1st night in Toyama. Walking down the street on the on the opposite side, however, you cannot fail to notice the modernist Observation Tower rising behind. The Observation Tower is open until 9pm during the Summer months, so don't be put off by the appearance of the City Office being closed and in semi-darkness, just go through Reception and head towards the back of the building and there is an elevator for the Observation Tower tucked away on your left. I visited after 7pm and appeared to be the only person in the building, apart from a Security Guard in Reception.
An interesting diversion at dusk .... and it's free!
