Located on the banks of Fugan Canal Kansui Park, the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art is a museum where art, design, and nature coexist in a comfortable harmony. From the open, glass-walled building, you can see the Tateyama mountain range, creating a view that looks like a painting. The museum features many exhibits that are accessible even to art novices, and its distinctive feature is that the posters and chairs give a sense of the "everyday nature of design."
A highlight is the rooftop, the "Onomatopoeia Roof," where a picture-book-like world unfolds. Lined with colorful play equipment, it's a spot that will bring smiles to the faces of both adults and children. At the museum's cafe, Buffet Restaurant Artisan, you can enjoy lunch and desserts made with ingredients from Toyama.
