Tromsø, the city in the Arctic Circle, was much warmer and more affectionate than I thought.
On a winter day when the cold wind pierced my collar, the snow-capped mountains seen from the harbor facing the sea were as clear and calm as a black and white photograph.
And the ships floating on the calm sea—fishing boats, yachts, and even steaming sauna ships.
The warm steam rising in the cold air seemed to show Tromsø’s inner feelings.
It looked cold but was actually warm, and it was a quiet but vibrant, living and breathing Arctic city.

📍How to get there:
You can get to Tromsø’s downtown area in 10-15 minutes by taking the airport bus or bus 42 or 40 from Tromsø Airport. The port is a 5-minute walk from Stortorget Square in the city center, and if you walk along the dock toward the snow-capped mountains, you can naturally see various ships.

🌿 Attractions:
Tromsø Port itself feels like an outdoor exhibition hall.

Starting from *Stortorget Square* and walking along the coastal promenade,
you can see various boats, snow-capped mountains in the distance, and even the Arctic Cathedral and Tromsø Bridge.
In winter, the white steam rising from the Norwegian floating sauna boats creates an exotic scene.

There are many cafes around the city port where you can enjoy warm soup and hot chocolate.
