Kau Kee, Hong Kong 🍲✨🇭🇰

If you're in Hong Kong and craving something truly iconic for curry and braised beef, don't miss Kau Kee in Central. This small shop, hidden on Gough Street, has a reputation for being quite impressive.

When you order "Beef Brisket Noodles," you first choose your noodles: yi mein, flatbread, egg, or vermicelli. You can also choose between clear or gravy soup. If you prefer something a little spicy, try the curry. The tenderness of the brisket and the soft texture of the joints is amazing, combined with the broth that's simmered without being too oily, yet still perfectly balanced and flavorful.

Be prepared to wait in line; it can get quite crowded, especially from lunchtime to dinner. If you go after breakfast or before dinner, it might be a bit better. The wait isn't as intense.

The shop doesn't take reservations; there aren't many tables, so the atmosphere can be a bit crowded. And most importantly, bring cash (not sure about cards), as credit cards aren't accepted. But considering the taste and authenticity, it's a great place to go. It's worth the wait!
