[Okayama Prefecture] Tsuyama Castle, one of Japan's 100 most famous castles

Tsuyama Castle, which has been recognized as one of Japan's 100 most famous castles, was built on the 50m-high Kakuyama mountain by Yamanaka Tadamasa during the Muroyama period. It was originally called Kakuyama Castle, but after it was abandoned and repaired, it came to be called Tsuyama Castle. Today, only parts of the stone walls remain, but the view from the hilltop is magnificent. In spring, it is also famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot. There are quite a few steps to climb up to the hilltop, so be sure to stay hydrated when visiting. Facility name 📍 Tsuyama Castle
