The hidden charm of Uji Town

My friends warned me that Uji is small town with temples unless you're a die-hard matcha fan. But, determined to try Nakamura Tokichi's famous matcha parfait, we gave it a shot. And I'm so glad we did! Uji turned out to be a hidden gem. The town's scenic views, particularly around the Uji bridges, were stunning. We enjoyed a leisurely walk along the riverbank, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere and admiring the surrounding landscapes and traditional houses. The shopping street was also a delight, lined with shops selling all sorts of matcha goodies. We ended up falling in love with this charming town! Even if you're not a huge matcha fan, Uji's peaceful vibe and picturesque spots make it worth a visit.
