This time, I chose to challenge Section 5 of the Taipei Grand Trail in reverse, starting from Bishanyan and ending at Jiantan MRT Station. Compared to the regular direction, this route is mostly downhill, making it less challenging and suitable for light hiking. With plenty of thoughtful facilities along the way, the overall comfort level is high!
📍Highlights of the Trip
Starting Point Transportation:
Take the MRT to Neihu Station ➝ Transfer to bus route S2 ➝ Get off at "Bishanyan (Baishihu Suspension Bridge)" stop.
Recommended Attractions:
· Bishanyan Kai Zhang Sheng Wang Temple: The temple's plaza offers a wide view, making it an excellent spot for sunset and night scenery.
· Old Place Observation Deck: A popular photo spot with a panoramic view of Taipei City.
Route Overview:
· Total length is approximately 12 kilometers, with plenty of shaded areas for a cool and comfortable hike.
· Estimated time is about 3.5 to 4 hours, faster for steady walkers.
· The section from Old Place Observation Deck to Jiantan Station consists of downhill stairs, making it easy and effortless.
