Kumamoto: A beautiful spiral pyramid in the sea

About an hour by car from Kumamoto Station

This facility is mainly used as a ferry waiting area at Misumi Port.

Its distinctive triangular exterior is a feature.

There is an observation deck at the top, and you can see Misumi Port and Minamata on the opposite shore.

You can enjoy the spiral design inside, but it is very quiet as there are no people around.

Parking and viewing the building are free.

Next to it is a market called JA Kumamoto Uki Sansan Ukikko Misumi, which sells agricultural products and seasonings from Uki City and the Amakusa area.

And across the street is the very retro Misumi Station.

It was a great way to take a break from driving and change my mood.
