Thousands of terraced salt ponds, a site of traditional salt production dating back to the Inca era 🧂. You can even witness the workers in action.
This place is not only visually stunning under the sunlight but also rich with the wisdom and lifestyle of the local people. Since the area tends to fall into shadow in the evening, it's best to ask locals for the ideal visiting time!
Entrance Fee: Approximately 10 Soles (around 400 yen)
How to Get There: There are three main options 🚌
- Join a tour from Cusco (often paired with Moray)
- Arrange a taxi from Urubamba
- Take a colectivo → get off midway → take a tuk-tuk (the cheapest option)
For the return trip, head to the main road and catch a tuk-tuk heading to Urubamba.
