Sirikit Dam

Sirikit Dam, or locally known as Tha Pla Dam, is the largest earthen dam in Thailand. It is located in Tha Pla District, Uttaradit Province, blocking the Nan River, which flows down from Na Muen District, Nan Province. It was originally under the care of the Royal Irrigation Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Later, a power plant was installed and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand was given the responsibility for its maintenance. The area above the dam is a large water reservoir and is also an important tourist attraction in Uttaradit Province. #tripdiscount #SirikitDam
