Wulaoshan Forest Park, located 15 kilometers east of Lincang City, serves as a buffer zone for the Lincang Daxueshan Nature Reserve. From a distance, the five peaks resemble five elderly men sitting and chatting, hence the name Wulaoshan. Wulaoshan boasts towering, steep peaks, crisscrossing valleys, and dense forests and vines. The scenic area boasts magnificent mountains and rivers, cascading cliffs, dense forests reaching the sea, cascading springs and waterfalls, breathtaking lake and mountain scenery, birdsong, fragrant flowers, and breathtaking celestial phenomena.
In spring and summer, the azaleas bloom in the mountains, creating a truly spectacular spectacle. In summer and autumn, the mountains are often shrouded in mist, creating a breathtaking scene of beauty. A stream gurgles year-round in the mountains, and from afar, the waters of the Golden Bamboo Forest cascade down the cliffs, forming a vast curtain of water 30 meters high and over 3 meters wide. Rare animals such as the monkey-faced eagle, the camellia chicken, the sunbird, and the macaque monkey live in the mountains, creating a free kingdom where plants and animals thrive.
The subtropical low-latitude mountain monsoon climate has a small temperature difference between the four seasons, distinct dry and wet seasons, and significant vertical changes. There is no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer. It is suitable for travel in all seasons.
The main attractions of Wulao Mountain Forest Park include Wulao Waterfall, Lover's Valley, Lulian Lake, Golden Bamboo Forest and Dadieshui, Wufeng Pavilion, etc. It combines the aesthetic features of grandeur, danger, strangeness, beauty and seclusion, and is an excellent tourist destination given by nature.
