🚤 Floating into a Dream – Our Arrival in Venice by Boat

One of the most magical moments of our Italy trip was approaching Venice by boat. As the water taxi glided through the lagoon, the skyline of Venice slowly emerged—domes, bell towers, and pastel-colored buildings rising from the water like something out of a storybook.

There’s nothing quite like that first glimpse of the Grand Canal, bustling with vaporettos, gondolas, and boats carrying everything from produce to parcels. The sea breeze, the soft splash of waves, and the echo of boat horns created a soundtrack that made the experience feel surreal.

We passed iconic sights like St Mark’s Campanile and the Doge’s Palace, and even though we’d seen countless photos, nothing compares to seeing them from the water for the first time. The boat dropped us near Piazza San Marco, and from that moment, it truly felt like we had entered another world.

This isn’t just a transfer—it’s a Venetian rite of passage.
