2 days in Venice, Italy

#hellohalloween

Venice is one of those places that feels almost unreal until you’re standing in it — water lapping at the steps, gondolas gliding past, and centuries-old buildings reflected in every canal. We spent a two days here, and even with just two days, it was unforgettable.

The best way to see Venice is on foot (and by vaporetto). This is sognificantly harder with children in pushchairs! We wandered through hidden alleyways, across tiny bridges, and into lively squares where locals chatted over espresso. St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace are must-sees, but some of our favourite moments were far from the crowds — quiet canals, local gelaterias, and kids' playgrounds hidden among the chaos.

We took the vaporetto from Rialto Bridge back to our hotel. We managed to catch the sunset as we crossed Ponte dell'Accademia to get back to our hotel - magical.

The next day, we walked around so much of the city! Visiting beautiful candy stores and the famous Libreria Acqua Alta.

Venice isn’t about ticking off sights — it’s about slowing down, getting lost, and letting the city reveal its secrets. Two days were enough to fall completely under its spell... but I certainly won't be returning until my children are walking independently!
