Go to St. Mark's Square in Venice and find the tallest bell tower. I love climbing up to the observation deck and taking in the view. The windows are barred, making it difficult to take a commemorative photo, but the view through them is truly breathtaking. It offers a variety of views from every angle. The Gothic-style Doge's Palace. The exterior didn't seem particularly ornate for Italy. I didn't get to see the interior, but I heard there are tours of the prison and armory.
